COVID-19 OPS Positions  

These are OPS (Other Personal Services) positions.

Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan. Paid time off is not available for OPS positions.Learn more about State of Florida OPS employee benefits.

All positions:

  • May work outdoors to support COVID-19 testing and/or COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Must have ability to work varied hours including nights and weekends according to agency needs.
  • Must display exceptional customer service, communicate effectively, and demonstrate a willingness to assist others.
  • Minimum Qualifications must be met; Training will be provided.
  • Candidates must be able to successfully complete a Level II Background Screening prior to employment.  
  • Are subject to Emergency Duty which involves working before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days. Includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Registered Nurse –  ($25/hr)
Minimum Qualifications required: Licensure as a registered nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-0827.
  • Supports COVID-19 testing and vaccinations at health department and community testing sites: collecting client data, completing laboratory forms, collecting specimens for COVID-19, packaging specimens for shipment, reconciling test results with orders, providing test results to clients, entering data into electronic health record and/or electronic data base and ordering labs in electronic health record.
  • Training will be provided for collection techniques, PPE and other laboratory processes
  • Supports additional COVID-19 response activities, as assigned.

Licensed Practical Nurse –  ($20/hr)
Minimum Qualifications required: Licensure as a practical nurse in Florida

  • Supports COVID-19 testing and vaccinations at health department and community testing sites: collecting client data, completing laboratory forms, collecting specimens for COVID-19, packaging specimens for shipment, reconciling test results with orders, providing test results to clients, entering data into electronic health record and/or electronic data base and ordering labs in electronic health record.
