FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN OKALOOSA COUNTY ENCOURAGES ELIGIBILITY GROUP EXPANSION 40 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER TO BOOK NOW FOR APPOINTMENTS MARCH 29 AND MARCH 31

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla.— In accordance with Executive Order 21-79 issued on March 26, DOH-Okaloosa and our partners will be available to vaccinate persons 40 years of age and older effective March 29. DOH-Okaloosa still has appointments available for March 29 and March 31. All persons eligible under the current Executive Order 21-79 (born March 1981 or before) can make an appointment now at  https://OkaloosaCOVID19Vax.eventbrite.com via Eventbrite or by calling 850-344-0566.

Effective April 5, all Floridians will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the FDA. Currently there are three approved vaccines for COVID-19. This includes a vaccine approved for persons 16 years of age and older (Pfizer-BioNTech) or 18 years of age and older (Moderna or Johnson & Johnson). DOH-Okaloosa uses the Pfizer vaccine and will be able to vaccinate persons 16 years of age or older starting April 5. All persons eligible as of April 5 (birthdate of March 2005 or before), can register for the vaccine for the week of April 5-9 starting March 30 at noon. However,any individual who is not 18 years of age or older by the day of their vaccination appointment must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to the vaccination clinic.Unaccompanied minors can not be vaccinated and will be turned away from the vaccination clinic.
