Body Piercing Inspection Program

Please call DOH-Escambia

The Body Piercing Inspection Program is designed to promote safe and sanitary conditions in Body Piercing Establishments and to protect the public from infectious diseases.

Body piercing, a form of body art, is the act of penetrating the skin to make, generally permanent in nature, a hole, mark or scar. It does not include the use of a mechanized, pre-sterilized ear-piercing system that penetrates the outer perimeter or lobe of the ear.

The governing authority for this program is Florida Statute 381.0075 and Florida Administrative Code 64E-19(pdf 41.73kb).
