Environmental Health investigates nuisance complaints from the public which involve septic problems such as sewage on the ground, abandoned swimming pools, improper disposal of garbage, or other concerns about unsanitary conditions as defined by Chapter 386 Florida Statutes.
Complaint investigations generally consist of research, inquiries, observations, and site inspections. Complaints that do not fall within the jurisdiction and authority of the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) will be referred to the appropriate agency.
