Getting tested for HIV can be scary. While waiting for your results, it is important to think about what you can do to protect yourself from HIV.
Risk factors such as having casual sex, not using a condom correctly, and being an IV drug user can greatly increase your chances of getting HIV.
If results are negative for HIV, Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a once-a-day pill that can prevent you from getting HIV. If taken correctly, PrEP along with correct condom use can prevent the spread of HIV almost 100% of the time.
If you test positive for HIV, DOH-Okaloosa will provide you with medication that day and will assist you with getting the care you need. Contact us to get your medication and to receive care at 850-510-0228
